See more of the Northwest Territories
While you are visiting the Northwest Territories, we suggest you take a few extra days to See More NWT. There are dozens of half day to three day tours and packages you can add on to your northern holiday.
Learn about Aboriginal culture by joining an aboriginal family at a traditional camp. Packages are offered from our major centers. Take a boat cruise on one of our lakes or rivers - the scenery is marvelous and your guide will be friendly, and well informed. Shop for arts and crafts, northern designed clothing, books, or even diamonds. Take a flightseeing tour with one of our regional or local airlines. They offer fly in trips to Nahanni, to see the Canol trail, or to Tuktoyaktuk to view the pingos. Go horseback riding on the Canol Trail for a few days, or fish Great Slave or Great Bear Lakes for a half day or longer. Hike the eskers in the Barrenlands, or take a clay bath on the shore of Great Slave Lake.
In winter, rent some gear and go Aurora watching, skiing and snowshoeing, ice fishing, or snowmobiling with our friendly tour guides, and at our winter lodges. Try dogsledding with some of our expert mushers.
Drive our scenic highways. Take a sightseeing tour on the Ingraham Trail, or the Dempster Highway. Or drive yourself - rent a vehicle, and a canoe or boat, and go camping along the Waterfalls Route, or sightsee in Wood Buffalo National Park. Drive the Dempster Highway south to the Arctic Circle, or in winter, take the ice roads to the Beaufort Sea coast.
We invite you to See More and Live the Legend.
