A friend and myself first explored the NWT 17 years ago and i am still hocked to it. I have been travelling in many parts of canada, but i tell you the NWT is the best. I am planning a canoe tour in august 2007. Best regards BEN

When I was in my early twenties I always thought about packing up and leaving Ontario to find work in the Territories. Never having the courage to take up my wish, I will turn 50 in 2011. My figure it would be a good birthday gift to spend 1-2 weeks exploring the far north. Elsewise, another 25 years will pass and I'll still be dreaming!

We have been planning our trip to Yellowknife and the North West Territories for a couple of years now. We are now planning on coming in 2008. Your web-site is amazing and we can't wait to come to see your amazing country and meet your lovely people. We have been to Whitehorse in 2002, but really want to get out more and would love to see the Aurora. Can't wait to come.

I was in Yellowknife as an exchange student in 1967 and I have never forgotten my time there. We went on many little trips within Yellownife and its surroundings and I was awe struck by the raw beauty of the land, the lakes and the closeness to nature on all levels. It was strange to go to sleep when it was light out all night. The people were warm, friendly and generous with their time. I hope to be able to get back again one day. I'm sure a lot has changed since 1967. :)

We came back last week from a fabulous 10 day trip in NWT.
Highlights included enjoying the touristy stuff in Yellowknife for a day, then driving and camping around Great Slaves Lake all the way to Hay River, then to Wood Buffalo, then back up to Fort Simpson, and
down to the limits of Alberta and finally back to Yellowknife.
Highlights included:
Fort Providence Park - beautiful camping, long evening by the campfire (twice) Lady Evelyn Park Falls - gorgeous falls, fishing Hay River Park - Nice park, fun to be on a beach Fort Smith Park - beautiful camping, fun day trips to Wood Buffalo N.P. (2 nights) Louise Falls and Alexandra Falls 60th parallel Visitor Centre
I wanted to express sincere thanks to the staff in all the parks, ...who [were] so nice,
made us feel at home, and recommended other places to go.
Again, thanks so much,
Mireille in Peterborough, Ontario
