Sport fishing regulations in Canada's Northwest Territories
We are happy to welcome visitors to our abundant and pristine fishing waters. While you're here, it's important to follow certain basic rules. These are explained in the Northwest Territories Sport Fishing Guide, available in printed or downloadable versions from the Government of the Northwest Territories Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
We highly recommend the Guide, since it answers almost any question you may have. Whether or not you obtain this free Guide, however, you must purchase a valid sport fishing licence for the current season. Licences are also for sale at sporting goods, hardware and convenience stores, most sport fishing lodges and certain offices of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Some licences require additional validation, and you're required to carry your licence with you at all times.
